Are there any circuit schematics/layouts available that implement external LNAs or PAs? Interested in reliable communication in moderate NLOS conditions.

We have application note APS004 describing the implementaion of an LNA for the purpose of increasing range. I’m not sure if that will help you with reliable communication in NLOS conditions though.
For managing NLOS situations I recommend you read the APS006 applicatin notes.
